My First Print: DJI Osmo Nano Case with Bamboo Lab A1 Mini
Date Published

Finally, my first 3D print!
Hello! In this first article, I want to share my first experience using a 3D printer. The printer? The Bamboo Lab A1 Mini—a printer I think is excellent value for money for beginners.
Why Choose the Bamboo Lab A1 Mini?
I chose the A1 Mini because of its affordability, auto-calibration (no need to worry about manually setting the bed level), compact size that fits on a desk, and the ability to print multicolor with AMS Lite.
The First Item I Printed
For my first print, I chose a case for the DJI Osmo Nano. Why a case? Because it's simple—great for testing the printer's capabilities. Functional—ready to use. The size fits the A1 Mini build plate (180x180mm).
My Print Settings
I used the default settings from Bambu Studio. Filament: PLA basic. Layer height: 0.2mm. Infill: 15%. And the result? Surprisingly good for a first print!
Results and Impressions
The print is neat, the surface is smooth, and the dimensions are just right—the casing fits perfectly with the DJI Osmo Nano. Bambu Lab's auto-calibration really makes life easier, eliminating the hassle of manual setup like with older printers.
A message for those of you just starting out with 3D printing: don't be afraid to jump right in. Start with a simple model, use the default settings, and see the results. If I, a newbie, can do it, so can you!
Next Project
After this, I want to explore multicolor printing and create other functional parts. Follow my social media for updates on my next 3D printing project!
